How to get the best views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House

Updated: Mar 18

Have you got a severe case of Aussie wanderlust? I know the feeling! I can't believe that it has been 7 weeks since I crammed my life in to a backpack and left to travel the world, starting in Australia. Ever since I was a child I've dreamed of exploring the land down under and it definitely has not disappointed so far. Sydney Opera House has got to be one of the most famous spots in the whole of Australia and of course you're going to want to get a good look (and lots of great photos too!).

On the first leg of my Australian adventure I spent 3 nights and 2 whole days in Sydney. Because of the little amount of time I had here, I wanted to make sure that I maximised my site seeing. One of the best ways I found to do this was taking a Sydney Harbour Lunch Cruise with Vagabond Cruises. Vagabond Cruises offer a wide range of Sydney Harbour cruises including the lunch cruise that I went on and a jazz lunch cruise. They also offer a range of special events such as Valentines Day and Easter.

This was genuinely the best way that I got to see the famous Sydney sites, especially without all the hustle and bustle of fighting your way through the crowds to get up close and personal. The cruise lasts a total of 3 hours and during this time you will pass them both twice, giving plenty of time to head to the deck for some photos and to really take in the views.

While on board the Sydney Harbour Lunch Cruise a freshly prepared Carvery and sea food buffet is included. We found the food to be of really good quality and there's loads to go around too. You definitely won't be left hungry! Once the mains have been served and completed they also have desserts and hot drinks on offer. We had cheesecake and chocolate cake on our cruise and both were delicious. Just the amount of sweetness you need after a filling meal. We also upgraded to the drinks package and I would really recommend doing this. There really was no better feeling than sitting on the deck, watching the world go by while sipping on a Lemon and lime Vodka Cruiser and soaking up the sunshine. It costs just $40pp to upgrade to the premium drinks package or $30pp to upgrade to house beer and wines.

So if you're a lover of delicious food, great live music and refreshing drinks (who isn't?) then a Sydney Harbour Lunch Cruise with Vagabond Cruises is definitely something you'll want to get in the diary for your time in Sydney. I promise you that you'll never have a lunch with views better than these.
